Define or Divine – That is the Question!

Are we here to define or Divine our lives? That is the question!

Do you feel like the world is trying to tell you who you should be? How you should act? What you should do? In a world that is bent on defining “who we are” by race, religion, culture, career, gender, status, orientation etc. It is an act of courage to defy the structure. Continue reading

What is Pellowah

Are you stuck? Lacking clarity or direction? In need of some forward movement or a shift in perspective? As a practitioner, are you feeling you are just going through the motions? Or perhaps you have some great ideas and just can’t muster the energy to execute them!
Whether you are a healer/practitioner or on your own awakening journey – Pellowah may be calling to you as you are reading this!
Pellowah is the name given to an energy healing technique first channelled in 2003 by Australian Spiritual teacher Kachina Ma’an. The purpose of Pellowah is to increase your capacity for positive change: To enable you to reach your highest purpose and potential. Directed by spirit through a series of dreams and visions Kachina founded the Pellowah Healing Technique and began to train others in this new energy modality in 2004.
Pellowah is an angelic word meaning “Radical Shift in Consciousness” – its primary reason for being channelled at this time is for awakening the consciousness of humanity.  Although an angelic word, Pellowah energy does not originate from the angelic realms. It is pure source energy, a direct transmission from the Light. Why We Are Born – by Akemi G

“Why We Are Born” – by Akemi G. I hardly know where to begin with this soul filled book! If you are grasping to understand the concepts of “Spirituality”, or have had a gnawing sense you are here for a purpose, or that there is some greater, bigger divine plan – This book is for you!

akemiThis self published work is the creation of Akemi Gaines – Akashic Record Reader, owner of the Facebook page Akashic Records, and author of several novels. Akemi has simplified complex spiritual concepts, and written them in a language everyone can understand!

I am deeply grateful to Akemi for this book. Since reading, I have recommended it to countless clients and friends. For although I have had many conversations on the subject of this book – there is nothing like being able to quietly contemplate the thoughts and feelings that arise when faced with answers to lifelong persistent questions! Take the time to really feel into this book, to acknowledge where it hits you, where it lands within you.

There will be aspects of this book you agree with – you will nod and smile, and may even have a deeper sense of peace. There may also be aspects that cause you to react, disagree, rally against – the Ego has a way of rejecting anything that is perceived as a threat to it!

By remaining open to possibility, by placing everything in the realm of possibility, we begin to understand our infinite potentiality – Not just ours as the individual, but ours as the collective.

“As Spirit, we are already One and we know Love. We know everything and all the wisdom. This ideal condition, however, wasn’t enough for us. So we have chosen to experience love, rather than just knowing it. For this grand purpose we have set up this reality, a stage where we can exercise our power to apply our wisdom so that we can experience Love.”

What if everything you, we, are experiencing is a call to remember our selves as Love? To exercise our divinity and to actually BE all the Love and wisdom we already are! Everything happens for us. Everything is a blessing. It is either a direct blessing, or a blessing disguised as a lesson. This may seem difficult to digest in the face of tragedy. Yet even tragedy is a call to open our hearts wider, to dig deeper into the well of understanding and wisdom, to find the compassion within.

“Why We Are Born” is full of “light” and “love”. Written in Akemi’s trade mark straight forward style it is clear, direct and removes many of the misunderstandings and misconceptions of spiritual teachings. Whether you are just beginning your journey, or well along the path, this book offers insights that will remind you, despite its challenges, just how incredible life is! And just what a gift you are!

The Gifts of Imperfection

“The Gifts of Imperfection” by Brene Brown is a gift in itself. A book, which landed in my hands, right at the time I needed it! Although slender and succinct, don’t let this fool you into thinking it is lightweight, or that it is not worth its weight! If it calls to you on any level – read it!

Ten little chapters packed with wisdom that often challenged, cajoled and unwittingly enticed deep-seated patterns, behaviours, and memories to surface, in the light of new awareness.

With a conversational writing style, Brene Brown managed to have me nodding in agreement, pausing in sudden realisation and expressing a depth of grief I did not know was within me. As grief gave way to understanding, forgiveness and acceptance, I felt a stronger more vulnerable me emerge…

breneinfinite2I sat with my vulnerability and finally recognised this as my strength. What a shift in perception! My own imperfections hidden under the illusion of my “perfect” mask, held all the answers. As fear of my imperfections gave way to seeing them as signposts for learning and growing, I began to get a sense of my true self, my authentic voice.

Part of me had been submerged, pushed down deep, out of fear of being “different”, not “fitting in”, or simply not “being good enough” – my heart was not “whole” – there were parts of me I had hidden, rejected, dismissed. Parts of me unloved. What power lies in being able to examine these parts with love and compassion, to bring them to light, and accept the lesson and the ultimate gift they each revealed.

Knowing ourselves is the journey of a lifetime… with “The Gifts of Imperfection”, Brene Brown has created an immensely valuable tool to making the journey to whole hearted living – a place of Being, where we live with authenticity, courage, compassion and connection.

The Gifts of Imperfection is a book I keep within easy reach, as a reminder to Embrace All of Who I Am.

Negativity and Depression

Today I was asked about negativity and how it affects us, and those around us.  And more specifically why are negative people, negative?

There will be many who offer you complex, lengthy and detailed reasons behind negativity, a significant factor of depression. Yet, broken down in to its simplest form:

Negativity and depression arise when we live in fear and live in the past.

Some of your patterns of negativity are inherited, some learned. No matter where they come from, they are not who you are. Most of your fears are based on past experience, or learned responses. Therefore fear is the past.  So if you break it down to one thing – “Negativity and depression occur when you live in the past.”

You attract what you focus on. What you give attention to you intensify. You are a magnet. Your magnetic pull, not only affects you, and those around you, it affects the entire universe.

What you think, how you feel, your reactions, your actions, behaviours, responses – the way you live your life, is down to choice. Your choice. At any given moment you can decide to change your life, by changing your perception.

Here’s the thing – you cannot change what happened in the past. And believe me, throughout your life you will have written several versions of past events. Not only are there your versions of “reality”, you also have the versions written by others who were present. You cannot change what happened, or how others perceived what happened.  What you can do is accept you have a past and, leave the past where it belongs…in the past.

Our stories of the past that hold us in negativity and depression have elements of shame, blame, abandonment, anger, loss, frustration and separation. Our repetitive cycle of holding on to the past means we bring this into our current situation, so consequently we are a self fulfilling prophecy of gloom and doom.

One day it is like a new beginning, everything seems to be going right for a change. You tell yourself it won’t last, and lo and behold – it doesn’t!

So, how do you leave the past in the past, be present in the present, and let the future occur without holding too tight? You make that choice! You decide if you are a prisoner of your past, or a pioneer of your future.

Awareness and choice are our greatest tools. In every moment thoughts arise from past patterns, emotions surface that have little to do with current situations, and we over react based on past experiences. The choices we make as to how we respond determine if we are living in the past or present.

Become the observer of your thoughts, emotions and reactions. If you try to “push” your thoughts away, they come back with intensity. I have found by simply observing the thought without attachment to changing it, deleting it or judging it, the thought dissipates. Space is created to be with what is now.

Emotions arise, reactions occur, and I ask what are you? Fear? Anger? Frustration? Shame? Judgement? etc. In doing so I am able to find the core of the emotive response and recognise a part of me unresolved and triggered by the current situation. For me, this allows understanding, compassion and gratitude to be present, thus changing the dynamic of the situation, and bringing it back to what is happening now.

In each and every moment I am present. Present with all that arises, and all that falls away. Everything you think, feel and envision in each moment creates your future. So do something today your future self will thank you for!
